      I have used this type of lamp for years. I clamp it to a non-removal shelf over my bed. I use it for reading and if I need to see anything that I might do as far as close up work while in bed. This lamp is very workable.

      Pretty good value

      I use the lamp to illuminate my desk space. It produces more heat than I like and it is rather difficult to position. On the other hand, the price is reasonable.

        I needed a good architect lamp in order to add some supplemental lighting to my kitchen herb garden. This does the job. It is adjustable and, so long as you tighten the screws, stays in any extended position.

        The only con is the appearance. It is a little (just a tad) rough. So while this is great for my kitchen garden, I'd probably bump up to the next level for my desk. Also, the plastic nut for tightening the clamp to the table/desk broke almost immediately.

        Overall, I give this four stars without considering the price. Considering the price, this four star lamp is a bargain. I was expecting a two or three star product.

              Bought 2 of these for a large L-shaped desk/studio space. The adjustable arms are sturdy and stable, and the switches at the top of the lamp seem to be better than average. If there's a weak point it's the clamp base - the plastic piece that adjusts the clamp nut is flimsy, and the base could have more or different padding (I easily added a different padding to mine that minimized shifting of the base).

                This lamp was not at all adjustable. Whatever position you place it in, it would just fall down onto the desk. It would not stay in place, no matter what you do. I was very disappointed.
